I was drawn to IFI through my experience of coming to the U.S. for university.
As an international student, I was made aware of the realities of culture shock, homesickness, and loneliness.
Amidst the hardships, the seed of fostering community within international groups was planted and kept growing along the years.
When I found the posting for IFI’s National Content Writer, it fit everything and more.
I love IFI’s mission and my role as a listener/composer in shining God’s love to the nations through international students’ stories.
Fun fact about me:
I’m a crazy, cultural mix!
I was born in London, England + my mom is Italian (hence last name Villa) + my dad is Japanese Brazilian (hence last name Nakata).
Lived in London for 4 yrs, then Sao Paulo for 15 yrs, and now I’ve been in the US for 6 yrs!
If you know the term “TCK”, that’s what I am! 😉
