Watching the leaves change colors and falling away, away from its source of nutrient and dying, I can not but relate to the resounding words of Jesus, in John 15:5, which says ” I am the vine , you are the branches. If any man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruits; apart from me, you can do nothing”.
The realization that without him I am like the leaves falling away in Fall, the Master life workbook series “The Disciples Cross” has been resourceful, in helping me stay an evergreen tree branch even in the Fall. Yes I had moments when it felt like life was changing seasons on me without pre-informing me, like the cold in Fall making its way through your fingers and nose. The disciples cross, which is Christ at the center, his words, prayer, fellowship and witness, warmed up my freezing fingers and nose. I mean to say, abiding in him, is living in the fountain of strength, love and grace.
