I used to walk on a beach in Panama City, Florida at night. The wind was a little bit chill. I felt cool but did not care. Because I was talking to Him.
Suddenly, I stopped. I noticed the waves. They were loud. They were strong. I ignored them for a long time. Why? Because I simply thought to talk to God was the most important. That was silly, I neglected the listening. Any conversations have both talking and listening. I only did talking. I had not truly been listening to God. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” ~ John 10:27. If I follow Him, I need to hear His words. I was surprised that I did not listen to Him.
However, right now, the Holy Spirit dragged me back. He led me to feel God’s creations — the waves and the sky. I was shocked! How beautiful and powerful they were. They are all God’s great work. I started to embrace them.
In the sky, there were lots of stars. An idea came out after a while of silence. “I am like working bee. Keep seeking and searching God’s knowledge, God’s call, God’s will, and God’s flowers. Then, bring them back to my hive, make as honey. So, I can offer this delicious and sweet honey to the people who need God.”
Looking at the stars, another idea came out. Our human beings have been spending a very long time to try to reach out to these stars. We sent people to space. We sent satellites to the stars. We used and will use more ways to reach them. We never stop no matter how far they are. Comparing to reach out to people as Christ-followers, we may be like reaching out to the stars. We try our best, never give up. One generation cannot finish; next-generation just keeps going. Try to find different ways to share the Gospel. For Jesus told us, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” ~ Matthew 28:19
Praise the Lord!
