As we started a new year, with new resolutions, going back to the beginning of the bible was not a coincidence. I felt that a new season for my faith was beginning. That was even more evident when God led me to the book of Genesis in several moments:
At the beginning of the month our bible discussion group started a new topic based on the first 3 chapters of the bible: the creation and the origin of sin. At church, our pastor started preaching a series about the “Complicated Family, Legendary Faith”, leading us to the stories of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and how they dealt with their struggles and moments of faith in God. Furthermore, we started the 3rd Master Life`s book in the ISEED training, where we learnt about the disciple’s victory, and how to rely in God`s word and to walk in truth and faith.
As I meditated on the scriptures of Genesis in the context we were experiencing with our training, I started to better understand the origins of sin and how this can separate us from God. But also, how to rely in His promises, and by faith come back to Him. Reading about the experiences of the first men of God lifted my hopes and made me think about how impactful our decisions can be in the future. How we can be a blessing for our next generation, and how our steps of faith may be really meaningful to them.
I started this new year with a different goal in mind: “To rely in God’s will by faith, and to be a blessing to my family”.
