No Coincidence with God

February has been a special month for me, especially that I found myself saying that there is no coincidence with God, on multiple occasions. I will share a few instances that made me say that. There is a new friend I made at the IFI lunar new year party in January, after exchanging contacts, I tried contacting her different times, but no answer. One day, it came to my mind that there are social media too. So, I tried a social media platform that is connected to her cell number and she responded! That same day I found out that we are going to be on the same trip, a five-day trip. I don’t know about her, but if it was me, I would have been uncomfortable to spend 5 days with someone I didn’t get back too. Thank God that we reconnected, and I am hopeful that God will use the trip to soften her heart and give her interest in the things of God which she says she isn’t interested in.

Another one happened during our usual Friday night bible study. We usually divide into smaller groups, but not as small as just two people. On this particular day, it just happened that I ended up being with a friend of mine I had tried to get to meet one-on-one with no luck. Being just the two of us, we had a great opportunity not only to discuss deeper about the story of Joseph we were studying, but we also had enough time to relate that to our lives and experiences. After reading about Joseph revealing himself to his brothers in Genesis, and in Luke 4, Jesus telling Peter that God revealed to him that Jesus is the messiah, I asked my friend if God has revealed Himself to her. Being a seeker, she told me an amazing story that reminded me of God’s many ways of revealing Himself personally and His power in answering prayers. She told me that although she doesn’t know how to pray, and doesn’t have much knowledge about God, she prayed anyways.

She had learned about ceremonies involving dead babies(that she thinks are unholy) that are performed on Buddha statues, and she didn’t want her relatives to buy them when they went on a tour at a temple. So, after worrying for some time, she prayed to God that they won’t get the statue. Surprisingly, when a whole group of tourists went to buy the statues, everyone else was able to buy them except her relatives who were denied the transaction because the merchants told them that they didn’t have a ‘predestined relationship’ with their god! Please pray that God keeps revealing Himself to her and her family! I am thankful to God that it was no coincidence that He provided opportunities for me to connect with my friends. Now, the one from our bible study is more interested about studying the bible together one-on-one. Please pray that God help her to make it a priority as she seeks to know more about Him.
